Elder Bespoke

Elder Bespoke is a duo of passionate designer-makers who are unwilling to compromise on the delivery of high-quality products, finish, and service. Their expertise spans refined homeware, bespoke furniture, and carpentry services centered around their appreciation of traditional craftsmanship and the natural environment. I worked closely with Sam and Mike to establish the principles and ethos of their vision, paying close attention to their process as well as the output. Following a series of brand-building exercises, we arrived at the name ‘Elder’ as a means of acknowledging their appreciation of traditional processes and techniques. Visually the brand communicates honesty and craftsmanship without feeling outdated. The intersecting rings of the brand’s monogram represents the time and patience they place into getting the details just right. The custom lettering that forms the logotype has been designed to reflect the quirky, organic forms of tree branches and emanates a sense of being lovingly chiseled into a piece of wood. Photographically the brand focuses on the woodland source of their primary working material and juxtaposes finished pieces by placing them back into the environment from which they came.
